Deborah Lippmann: Across the Universe

So... today I bring you one of the most amazing polishes in the world. Across the Universe by Deborah Lippmann. When this polish first came out I called all over the place trying to get ahold of it. I even called Nordstoms in Orlando and Fort Myers. Anyhoo - no one had it so I bought it online. And paid the most astronomical shipping charge I have ever heard of. The polish itself was incredibly expensive - 18 bucks. Then I had to pay 1.69 in tax. Whatever.. taxes are taxes, and I'm a democrat so I won't complain about them. But then I had to pay 8 dollars in shipping charges. Are you serious Nordstrom?!?! 8 dollars??!? All in all I paid 27.69 for one bottle of polish. ONE BOTTLE!!!! That is hands down the craziest/dumbest/most asinine thing I have ever done in my life. (By the way I only know those specifics because I never clean out my inbox. haha. Sometimes useful - sometimes annoying.) But it was kind of worth it. I love this polish. Though I wish I had taken the time to at least try to franken a substitute, because I saw someones Across the Universe franken on some website and it actually looked amazing. I want to know where I can find different types of glitter for nail polishes. Specifically hex glitter - because I loveeeeeee it. It's so shiny!!! There is just such a large surface that can reflect light, it is impossible not to be incredibly shiny. Anyhoo... I was hoping that Across the Universe would have a lighter base, but when I layered it over OPI's Suzi Says Feng Shui I liked it better. But this is Across the Universe alone in all its gory. This seriously is a gorgeous polish.

Lots of pics!! I hope you enjoy reveling in this polishes awesomness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As much as I love the Beatles, and Across the Universe is hands down my favorite song of theirs (Although sometimes Because comes really close to overtaking it), I really think a better name for this polish would have been Under the Sea. And then of course it would sell more bottles because of the Disney reference. Or would I be the only one willing to plop down 20 bucks for a disney polish??? Perhaps. Anyway- when I think of the Universe and outer space, I think of like a black jelly polish with maybe some purple, yellow, and silver glitter. Maybe some holo hex. I wish I knew where I could get hex glitter because I'd franken the fuck out of some awesome polish. So please - if you read this and you have any idea, let me know! I'd realllllllllllly appreciate it!
