China Glaze: Avalanche

This is a polish that I love, but hate. I love the color - I always get compliments on it. But I hateeeeeeee the burshstrokey, frost-tastic formula. Maybe it looks good from far away - but it drives me crazy. No matter how I put it on, it has brushstrokes. Though, they are less noticeable when I thin the polish out a lot and use very very very thin coats.

I wish I could find this color - a nice lavender metallic - with a nice formula. 

Zoya: Trixie

I waited foreverrrrrrrr to try this polish. I got this back in.. october? september? Whenever Zoya had the promo where they gave Raven, Trixie, and a red sparkley polish for free with an order. Well I finally tried Trixie and it is awesomeeeeeee. I had thought that China Glaze Millennium was my favorite silver metallic polish, but this Zoya is soooo much more forgiving!  No brushstroke problems, no chipping problems, incredibly reflective. I'm definitely glad that I got it and finally tried it, because I'm pretty sure I'm going to be rocking this on my toes for the majority of the summer. 

And in the shade - still extremely reflective. 

China Glaze: Outta Bounds

I love the metallic quality of this polish. China Glaze Outta Bounds has that fabulous micro-shimmer in it that makes the polish seem like a liquid metal in the bottle. I love it. I never actually ordered this polish - it was thrown in when my Poolside Collection was backordered for like a month. But I'm super glad they threw it in. It is definitely going to be my St. Patrick's Day mani this year. 

Maybelline: Brown Aluminum

I realllllly wanted to like this. And I do really like it in the bottle. I don't know why I don't like it. But I don't. It is a nice fall color though. Very shimmery. 

L.A. Colors: Metallic Green

Here is the polish that horribly stained my fingers for days. Okay not days.. but at least a day. This is from the L.A. Colors set I picked up at Walgreens for like 3 dollars. It was super cheap, so I'm not that concerned about the staining. Next time I wear it, I will just be more careful. 

This is actually a really nice color. I'm a sucker for shimmer metallics, and the fact that this is green just makes it even more awesome. If you see this set, you should definitely grab it. It is too cheap not to! 

China Glaze: Cheers to You

Sorry for the long delay! I'm in DC and I found it totally preposterous that the Hilton makes you pay 9.95 a day for internet access. I was adamant about not giving them 10 bucks for something that has been free in every hotel I've stayed at for the past 10 years. But eventually I caved. So I might as well make it worthwhile and post some pictures, right? So I'll try to get some of the China Glaze Christmas Collection up. This collection is called Tis The Season To Be Naughty And Nice. I love being naughty. Not so much with the nice, but I'm working on it. Anyhoo, this is Cheers to You. A very nice foily silver. Very shiny. I like the foil because it disguises the brushstrokes. I love how reflective this polish is. I think it will be a phenomenal New Years polish.

Overall... I love it! Great apart, great together. Overall... great!

Ulta: Scene Steel-er

Today I bring you Ulta's Scene Steel-er. This is a really cool metallic dark gray. I really like it. But I had forgotten how much I like it until I just saw these pictures. 

Unfortunately - massive brushstrokeyness with this polish. Not saying it is necessarily a bad thing, but just be prepared to put a little more time into this mani.

I think this polish is so pretty in the shade!

Overall - there are better dark gray metallics out there that don't leave massive brushstrokes like this one - but this is only 2 dollars at Ulta! Two dollars!! For a pretty nice sized polish that applies pretty good. Is it the best? No. Will it suffice? Definitely. Plus - these pictures were taken without a top coat, and maybe if I added one the brushstrokes wouldn't be as noticeable? I'll have to try it. 

Oh, and definitely if a holo top coat were added they wouldn't be noticeable at all. I actually realllllllly want to retry this polish with my frankened top coat. I will keep you updated. 

Ulta: Alter Ego

Why hello there! Since I am amassing such a large polish collection, I really am trying to get as many pictures as possible out there right now. So here is Ulta's Alter Ego. A pretty nifty polish if you ask me. Not too crazy or special, but it is a nice shimmery metallic blue. Reminds me of denim for some reason. I have never owned shiny metallic pants though, so I don't know why. You can see the massive amount of silver in the bottle. I probably should have shook it up a little more before using it. 

Very shiny. Bold, but not too bold. I think this will make a fabulous winter mani, maybe underneath a konad snowflake stamp or with some white and silver glitter sponged on the tips. I'll have to try that if it gets cold here this year. Overall - fantastic purchase for 2 dollars. I have yet to meet an Ulta polish I don't like. I'll keep you updated if it does happen though. 

French with China Glaze: Millennium

So this is what I'm rocking on my fingers today. Although since it is football season I wad tempted to create some sort of gaudy Giants theme...but I went with the professional look today. I really like it. I feel like Millennium is much more forgiving in the making of a french. It comes off much easier than any white I've used, and since it is so reflective.. it isn't really noticeable if one finger has a thicker or thinner line than another.

Of course I had to top this off with my fabulous frankened holo Seche Vite. It is so superbly sparkly. I can't get enough of it.
