Orly: Gilded Coral

I really really wanted to like the color. It's a great color! Just not on my skin. Perhaps if I were darker. Or even lighter, it would really work. It is a fabulous light golden color. I certainly wouldn't describe it as coral. But it is very pretty and summery.

Orly: Pixie Dust

Meh... crappy formula, not the best color, not the best coverage all add up to something I'll probably never use again.

Orly: Rockin Rocket

Another polish I only have a lukewarm feeling for. I think I'd love it more in the fall. For some reason I expected or wished for the base color to be lighter, but it has a lot of deep dark red/brown in it. I like the golden shimmer - but I was kind of hoping for a dark red version of Zoya Tiffany.  Oh well - like I said, I'm sure come October I will think this is the best polish in the world.

Orly: Lunar Eclipse

I love the finish on the Orly Cosmic FX collection. And for the most part I'm happy with the colors. I grabbed Lunar Eclipse specifically due to the purple flash that I saw in the bottle at Ulta, and now that I've finally put it on - it seems to have disappeared. It is still a gorgeous blue.. I just feel it was false advertisement. Just like OPI's Austin-tatious Turquoise. If you're going to bother to include a duochrome do it all the way! Sorry - rant over. Onto the pics...

Orly: Basket Case

I usually only use Orly Basket Case in sponging instances - because it is a great opaque polish that holds up to sponging. But I really am not a fan of its formula when applied regularly. Maybe I need to thin the polish out.. I don't know. And I don't really care because I will never wear this again. But since I did wear it, here are the pics...

Dark Green Comparison: OPI v. Orly

Well unfortunately I still have not discovered how to actually write on my pictures that I upload. So from here on out I will write out the names on pieces of paper and take pictures with those written labels. But here we have OPI Here Today Aragon Tomorrow v. Orly Enchanted Forest.

Okay so, Left to Right we have: Enchanted Forest, Here Today Aragon Tomorrow, EF, HTAT

As you can see, Enchanted Forest is a heck of a lot lighter and a lot greener. As well as bluer. It has a teal feel to it, at least when it is compared to HTAG, which I feel has more of a murky, olive green/yellowish undertone.

Here Today Aragon Tomorrow, and Enchanted Forest.

P.S. Sorry for the ugly, dry cuticles. They have gotten a lot better since I took this picture last month.

Orly: Enchanted Forest

Here's a little gem I picked up a Sally's for 1/2 price. I really love Sally's sometimes, specifically for that reason. And because they carry China Glaze. Anyhoo, here's Enchanted Forest, part of the Fairy Tale collection that Orly had. I really like this. I'm torn between whether I like this or OPI's Here Today Aragon Tomorrow more. But I really like how this is definitely GREEN. OPI looks very black 90% of the time, and only really looks greenish in direct sunlight, which is cool if you're going to be spending a lot of time outside. But I like the fact that this never looses its green-ness. Anyway, this is a dark/forest green creme. Very shiny. This is without a top coat.

On to the pictures...

Orly: Halley's Comet

Here's a polish that I really should like, but for some reason I could take it or leave it. Don't get me wrong, it's very pretty. I just am not over the moon about it. Maybe I'll like it better next spring, but at the moment I'm very into fall/vampy colors. I actually couldn't wait to get this off. Plus look at the shrinkage at the tips courtesy of Seche.

I do love that glass fleck/shimmeriness it has going on though. I don't know why I was so anti- this polish.

Orly: Viridian Vinyl

So who has Pokemon on the brain right now? Just me?? Okay, obviously this polish is only reminiscent of Pokemon in name. This was part of the Orly Plastix collection. I was super excited about both of the polishes I picked up from this collection (this and Retro Red), but unfortunately I'm just not madly in love with them. Don't get me wrong, they're very nice colors. But I suppose I'm just more into glitters and shimmers and jellies and nice shiny cremes.

Viridian Vinyl is a pretty bright and vibrant teal with a satin finish.

For future swatches I'm definitely going to stop doing the far away bottle pic because I think it looks weird. I'll try to take pictures as close as possible, like the last 3 pictures here.

Orly: Pixie Dust

Hey there,

Today I'm bringing you some pictures that I took a while back of a fantastic Orly polish called Pixie Dust. This polish doesn't necessarily scream pixies to me.. rather it makes me think of fabulous stormy days where you just want to sleep all day and not worry about anything.

I think this is a gorgeous gray-blue. It has some real shimmer in there, although I must be honest I didn't quite realize how much until I was trying to take the polish off and I had microscopic glitter particles allllllllllll over the place. And they would not come off for anything. Even after I showered. So that is something to be weary of with this purchase.
