Diamond Cosmetics: Concrete Jungle

Love this polish! It makes me glad I didn't grab China Glaze Pelican Grey. Although I'd kind of like to compare the two.... But I don't neeeeeed to. I'm perfectly happy with this polish. It has a great creamy formula. I love the color - a nice light, neutral grey. And as always, I love the price of Diamond Cosmetics polishes.

Finger Paints: Art Lofty Toffee

This is my first experience with a Finger Paints polish, and it was pretty mediocre. Not good, not bad. Right in the middle. I wish I liked the color more. The formula was okay - a little thick and stringy, but I'm sure a few drops of thinner would fix that. I grabbed this because I was on the hunt for a cheaper version of OPI's Cozumelted in the sun. This certainly wasn't a substitute for Cozumelted in the Sun. Not even close. But it is a good toffee colored polish with nice shimmer running throughout. I'm going to try some more Finger Paints polishes and see how those go. I love the idea of the line, by the way. I'm getting my Master's degree in Humanities, and I'm writing my thesis on 17th Century Spanish painting (specifically Velazquez's work). So art is near and dear to my heart.

Ulta: Banana Rum in the Sun

Here is another polish I got on clearance at Ulta. And I'm glad I did - Banana Rum in the Sun may be my favorite yellow yet. Color-wise anyway. The formula leaves a bit to be desired. This was... 5 coats I believe. Quite a bit. But it was necessary to get the bottle color. But I think the color looks better on me than China Glaze Lemon Fizz. And it is far less chalky. Maybe because it is so sheer.
On to the pictures...

Zoya: Apple

I'm in love with the Zoya Sunshine collection. So pretty! So sparkly! Get them while the Zoya Polish Exchange is still going.

My Easter Mani

I've been playing with dots all week - doing all one color but different shades... all sorts of different colors to match my outfit. Fun stuff. So I decided to keep that theme going with my easter mani. I hadn't done dots in anything other than creme colors before, so this was interesting. I used the Milani 3D Holographic polishes for the dots, and 3 coats of China Glaze White on White for the background. I would have used Sally Hansen's Whirlwind White, but I find that my manis with Whirlwind White seem a tad bit yellow.

Purple: Milani Hi-Res
Blue: Cyberspace
Pink: Digital
Green: Hi-Tech

I love the flakie holo particles in these polishes. Absolutely love. I wish they would come out with more 3D Holographic polishes.

Sinful: Rise and Shine

This is a polish that I had put off trying for months. I had one bad experience with a Sinful polish a long long time ago (it was super watery, sheer, and ugly). And I suppose I was afraid to try this because the color is so pretty in the bottle and I didn't want to be disappointed. But I wasn't - because it was a great formula. A little thick - but who knows if that's due to the polish itself or the fact that it had been sitting in a drawer untried for over a year. But it wasn't really an issue. The polish leveled out nicely, and I was left with this after two coats...

I'm in love with this shimmer.

China Glaze: Lemon Fizz

I like this polish. It is a nice, pretty creme pastel yellow. The application isn't the best - but it certainly isn't the worst. This was three coats, which is pretty average for me with polishes. It probably could have been two if I let each layer dry all the way before applying a new one. But I'm too impatient for that. I'd rather rush through and have to do an extra coat.. silly, I know. Anyhoo - here it is...

It makes me wish I had gotten some more polishes from the Up and Away collection - which I poo-pooed last year and didn't get any from. I only grabbed this because it was on clearance at Ulta for only 1.99. But I'm super glad I got it. I've been in a yellowey sort of mood lately.

Zoya: Rica

I loveeeeeeeee this polish. Love love love. This is everything I wanted Zoya's Tiffany to be, but wasn't. I didn't even know that Tiffany could be made more amazing. But Zoya's Rica truly is awesome. It is the perfect pink/coral color with golden foil. J a'dore. It is so bright and summary. I have been wearing it on my toes literally for 3 weeks - ever since I got it.

Savina: Dream

This is a new (to me) brand of polish that I decided to purchase on a whim during my last transdesign haul. And I'm really glad I did. I love the color - though I'm not sure how accurately portrayed it is here. It is a fantastic neon purple. Like Color Club Mrs. Robinson. But yeah - I ordered several polishes from them, so I hope they are all this nice. I can't attest to the wear time, because I only wore this for a few hours. But I will try to do a wear test soon.

P.S. Please ignore the giant cat hair that got stuck to my finger. As soon as they see I am going outside my cats run out there with me and like to hang out watching me take pictures. Then I pet them. And then something like this happens.

China Glaze: Avalanche

This is a polish that I love, but hate. I love the color - I always get compliments on it. But I hateeeeeeee the burshstrokey, frost-tastic formula. Maybe it looks good from far away - but it drives me crazy. No matter how I put it on, it has brushstrokes. Though, they are less noticeable when I thin the polish out a lot and use very very very thin coats.

I wish I could find this color - a nice lavender metallic - with a nice formula.

China Glaze: Electra Magenta

Another Tronica polish... I like this one too. It reminds me of a subtle version of Diamond Cosmetics Amethyst and Diamonds. Which I just realized I haven't shown you yet. So I will get right on that.

Ulta: Mint Condition

First off, I want to say sorry that I went MIA for so long. I got a new job, that comes along with an hour and a half commute (each way!). So I've been leaving before the sun comes up, and getting home before it comes down and haven't had any time to do anything other than watch the rangers and flyers lose their first few games.
Anyhoo - onto some polish. I got this at Ulta for 2 bucks, and I really like it. It is a nice teal color, and has a jelly-like quality. It was super sheer, but built up nice. This was 4 coats.
