Nubar: Purple Rain

Dark purple holo. Need I say more? Actually, yes I do need to. Because the finish on this one is pretty gritty. These pictures were taken with a coat of Seche Vite. Just a warning - you'll have to load up on top coat to get a nice glossy finish. But it is still very very pretty. I love holo glitter.

Also I had issues with bald spots, as I'm sure you can tell. This was with 3 coats of polish. But I'm sure if you are a more patient person than I am you will not have an issue with having to wait for your coats to dry completely before adding another one. 

Konad Failure

Here is my first attempt at a full Konad mani. It didn't turn out that good - but I suppose I can only get better. As you can see, I royally fucked up my ring finger on one of my hands. But I do like the color combo. I added to my China Glaze Midnight Mission mani by using China Glaze Millennium. And then, because the stamping turned out so bad, I attempted to disguise it by using my holo Seche franken, but it didn't help at all. But it did make it sparkly, which is always good. I used one of my BundleMonster plates for this, and I have to say - they are really awesome. Though they are a little too small for my thumb, I don't really mind. They were ridiculously cheap. For my thumb I turned the stamper sideways and did two on top of each other, and I think it worked out pretty well.

Sally Hansen: Lightening

I like yellow. It is such a cheery color. I don't think it looks that good on me - but I love it anyway. This yellow polish isn't bad, but it isn't great either. But it is widely available at every Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, and any other store you can think of - so that's a plus. Sally Hansen Lightening from the Insta-Dri line. I usually like the colors from the Insta-Dri line and don't like the formula. And that holds true for this polish as well. It is really opaque, which is good. But it is also very thick and streaky, so it requires numerous coats regardless of the fact that it is pretty opaque. I don't know about you guys, but if I'm going to do numerous coats, I want them to be thin. Because what happens with me when I wear the Insta-Dri polishes is that the final product ends up being so thick it takes foreverrrrr to dry. And then I bump my hands into things and dent my polish and then I just end up taking it off. Which is exactly what happened to me when I wore this. But if you are willing to deal with all of that, it really is a nice color yellow. 

China Glaze: Midnight Mission

Sorry for the overcast pictures! But the weather here has been crazy - 75 one day, 30 the next and lots of cold fronts moving through. But on the bright side I think that the lack of sun allowed me to capture the awesome tiny silver glitter particles in this polish. So here is Midnight Mission, from China Glaze's Vintage Vixen collection.

Nfu-Oh 56

Yay! I got some Nfu-Ohs (pronounced "en-foo-ohs") for Christmas. Today I'm showing you 56, which is a gorgeous green with the trademark Nfu-Oh fabulous flakie. This polish is really different from the other Nfu-Oh that I've tried, which is more of a flakie suspended in a clear base. With this polish because the base the flakies are suspended in is so opaque it is kind of hard to see the actual flakes. But they're still there and they are awesome. I used one layer of Nfu-Oh 56 over two layers of Ulta Envy, which is a really pretty dark lit-from-within shimmery green. I'll have to take some pics of it on its own one day. But here in FL it has been pretty crappy out lately - it seems like any time I have time to swatch the weather refuses to cooperate. Hopefully that will change soon - because I have sooooo many gorgeous polishes to show you guys! For Christmas I also got 10 of the Sally Hansen Prisms, 3 other Nfu-Ohs, and of course just a crapload of regular good old polishes to show you. So - stay tuned! and enjoy the Nfu-Oh goodness. 

Nubar Verde

I loveeeeeee this color! I love the whole Nubar Venetian Glass collection - but I think this is by far the standout of the collection. Verde is a gorgousssss deep dark olive green with a bunch of gold glass fleck. Phenomenal. I could wear this all day, every day. I heard it was very similar to Zoya Edyta. Alizeraine Claws did a really great comparison. So here you go - Nubar Verde...  

Another Awesome Giveaway!

For those of you who don't know (and how could you? I've never said anything about it) I loveeeeeee hockey. And really - I'm obsessed with all things Canada. Maybe it is because I live in Florida - about as far away from Canada as you can get in the US. Maybe it is because I used to play hockey and my brother still does for his University. Periwinkle Comparison

In these pictures my first two fingers (on the left) are Essie Lapis of Luxury and the two fingers on the right are China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le. Honestly in these photos you can't even tell that the Essie polish has a jelly-like consistency. They look extremely similar, although China Glaze may be a bit blue-er and a bit brighter, whereas the Essie seems a little washed out. But honestly these are really minute differences. Plus, the China Glaze polish is not only cheaper, but it is a part of China Glaze's core line - so it can be found at any Sally's store. Plus the formula is 109728109230498 times better. I really hated the Essie resort collection. Both this polish and Turquoise and Caicos were really watery, sheer, and uncontrollable (in my opinion). They were just too hard to work with.

Essie: Lapis of Luury

Here is Lapis of Luxury from Essies 2010 Spring/Resort Collection. It is a really pretty color, but it is way too similar to China Glaze's Secret Peri-wink-le. I'll post a comparison in a second.

Essie: Going Incognito

I love this polish! I think it is a gorgeous blue-leaning green creme. I love the teal nature of it. It really makes it unique, in my opinion. Go get it, if you can. I grabbed the last one at one of my Ulta's and when I went to the other Ulta in my area the Essie winter collection was almost completely gone.
