Icing: Ice Queen

Here is a fantastic dark grey polish I grabbed the last time I was at Claire's. Super pigmented! And I just love how dark it is. Honestly, I don't have another grey that is anywhere close to this. All of the greys I have are light grey - kind of the color of sidewalks. Or shimmery. This is a straight up dark grey creme. For some reason it reminds me of I Love Lucy. Strange, I know. On to the pictures!

Rimmel: Iced Honey

A few weeks ago (my how the time flies!!) my lovely buddy BD let me try out one of her favorite polishes, Rimmel London's Iced Honey. And man!!! I can see why she loves it so much! It's a sheer golden shimmer polish meant for layering. And damn, its phenomenal.

Here I have it layered over a polish I've posted before, Icing's Laura's Fav.

Sorry for the shadiness. The sun disappeared behind some clouds between the time that I took the second set of pictures.

I just love it so much! I think it's great over blue. It would be fabulous over pink. Superb over red. Reminiscent of the Vikings if layered over purple. I just think its awesome. And I've been looking all over online and I can't find it. Which sucks. Because I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed it. Or I need a polish very very very similar. So please, if you know of a good golden shimmery layering polish let me know! I'd love you forever and ever.

By the way, Rimmel London makes me think of London itself, and then that makes me think of Secret Diary Of A Call Girl. And then I just get sad because I miss it so much! It feels like it's been forever since that show has been on. It will probably air in Jan with Californication. But that is still really far away.   : (

Icing: Laura's Fav

Here is a little beauty I grabbed at Claire's last week. Laura's Fav. I love it! I thought it might be a dupe for China Glaze For Audrey, or Diamond Cosmetics Oh Tiff, or Essie Turquoise in Caicos. But it's really not. I did a comparison between those colors that I will post soon, as soon as I figure out how to type on pictures on my macbook.
Anyway, here is Laura's Fav. By the way I got this for a great deal. It was something like buy 2 get one free, or buy one get one free. Or buy one get one half off. Something along those lines that prompted me to buy 4 polishes. I have a serious problem.

I don't know how visible it is here (it might be more visible if you click on the pic and make it big) but there is a lot of shimmer in this baby. I was shocked. I had thought in the store that it might be a fabulous alternative for Chanel's Nouvelle Vague. But the Chanel is much more green, along the lines of For Audrey, while this polish is a lot cooler and has a lot of blue in it. But it does have that fabulous shimmer that Chanel is known for. So... definitely a worthwhile purchase in my eyes. Although... what with cognitive dissonance and all. I'll manage to find a way to reason that every purchase was worthwhile.

And in the shade:

It's very pretty, no?

Icing: 7th Inning Stretch

Okay.. another Icing polish. I picked this up last fall. My friend C____ and I were trying to find a dupe for this gorgeousssss designer polish we sampled at Macy's (I can't for the life of me remember what it was - because I'd actually really like to get it). But this polish was a pretty damn good substitute! It is my favorite dark blue shimmer. Which is saying something because I love China Glaze's Frostbite, but I really like the subtleness of this shimmer. It's one of those fantastic lit from within colors. Even though it is dark, it never looks black. And it is always very shiny. Love love love! Can't rave enough about this. It is polishes like these that keep me going back to stores like Claire's to see if they have anything good.

Wow! That looks like the worst bottle picture ever! Totally not representative of what is on the nail in real life.

Icing: Weekend Rendezvous

Okay. So let's move on to some Icing colors. I love the fact that Claire's carries some pretty damn fabulous nail colors. I love their sets. I have two of them - a pastel set and a neon scented set. I'll post those some other time. Right now, I want to show you Weekend Rendezvous, which is a very pretty cream salmon pink. Very nice. Very neutral. If I have to go to an interview or something and I don't want to scare anybody with neon tiger stripes, I usually reach for a color in this family. It also looks great with my frankened Holo Top Coat.

An unfortunate update:  Shortly after posting these pictures, Icing's Weekend Rendezvous fell victim to my ceramic tile floor. It fell from quite a height and unfortunately shattered into a million pieces. You will be missed Weekend Rendezvous.
