China Glaze: IDK

Holos always warrant lots and lots of pictures. So here is China Glaze IDK from the OMG collection (a.k.a. the best collection ever made)

Ulta: Blue Streak

I love love love this color! I really don't have anything like it. It reminds me of the cerulean Crayola crayon. Which was my favorite, by the way. On an interesting side note, I really didn't know how to pronounce cerulean until I watched The Devil Wears Prada. haha. 

Anyway, this color is great. A nice bright blue creme, with just the tiniest hint of a greenish tint. <3

I've really got to re-take these pictures to do this polish justice. Or maybe I'll just showcase it in a patchwork mani. I've been trying to perfect them... because the first one I did was god awful. And the second one I did was wearable, but not great. But hopefully one day mine will look even half as nice as Chloe's. Her patchwork manis are AMAZING. I love her blog. Check her out. 

OPI: A Grape Fit

I figured I would also post the pics I have from the only other polish I have from the OPI Brights collection,  A Grape Fit. I hoped this would kill my lemming for Nubar Pasadena Purple, but it didnt. Although I really should just buy the damn polish. OPI costs more than Nubar. I don't quite know what my problem is. Anyhoo, here are the pics... 

In some lights this looks pleasantly blue-leaning. But for the most part I think it is too warm toned for me. I like my purples cool, cause that is just how I roll.

Color Club: Sugar Rush

I was looking for a new base for my french manicures (at the moment I'm not using one - but I was using OPI Hawaiian Orchid) so I purchased this Color Club polish. It is slightly duochrome, so that's cool. I love the flashes of blue. But I think it is a little too frosty and oddly bold to use for a french base. It is still pretty. Nice a clean. Not at all a polish I would consider actually wearing, but it still nice to have the option. 

Essie: Velvet Voyeur

Here is a gorgeous color from Essie's fall collection, Velvet Voyeur. I actually purchased this a while ago and was putting off trying it on because I was afraid it would stain like crazy, but it didnt! Which was pleasantly surprising. I really love the color. I found it a wee bit tricky to put on and get even coats. Jellys are annoying in that sense, because I hate hate hate bald spots. But a third coat covered everything up and it looked phenomenal in my opinion. Very dark and vampy, yet still purple (actually I felt it was very purply/brown. Like eggplant or something). I'm loving Essie's new polishes. I still hate the Spring 2010 resort collection because those polishes sucked, but it was totally unfair for me to judge the whole company based on two polishes. 

I desperately need Smokin Hot. I'm hopefully going Monday to Ulta if I can get a ride. Sadly, since I sprained my ankle I haven't been able to drive my own car (which is a manual and involved clutching). So... if I don't get rides or borrow an automatic I am pretty much stuck at home. Big sad face. I hope I get better soon. 

OPI: No Room for the Blues

Here is OPI No Room for the Blues from OPIs Brights collection. Really the only thing I remember about that is the promo picture of a chicks ass in bright orange jeans. It doesn't really scream out 'buy this nail polish' to me, but hey. I'm no advertising executive. 

This polish is a ver pretty bright blue creme. Probably very similar to Sally Hansen Blue Streak. I will make a note to compare the two. And I will probably get to doing so around... April. Because that is just how I roll. I'm a perpetual procrastinator. 

I think this last picture is the truest to its real life color. The others are a little washed out I feel. So weird, because they looked washed out when I took the pictures outside, and then I retook pictures inside, and they still look like that. Oh well, maybe my new camera just does not like bright blue. 

China Glaze: Boogie

Here is a color that I originally passed up when I grabbed a bunch of colors from the Vintage Vixen collection. And then on a whim when I was buying some stuff from transdesign I decided to toss it in my cart. And I'm super glad I did. It has a fabulous dusty yet sparkly velvety purple color. I love the fact that it looks a little brownish in some lighting. And I just think it looks good with my skin. Definitely my favorite of the whole collection, which is quite a surprise. If you haven't gotten it yet, I totally recommend it. The color is great, the formula is great, the wear is great. It is just great. And it re-affirmed my love for China Glaze. Not that I needed it to be re-affirmed. 

China Glaze: DV8

DV8 is a really beautiful, well pigmented holo teal. The least holo-ey of this collection (that I have), I think the beauty of the teal really shines through. I love this shade the most, because this teal is definitely a color I would rock on its own. The fact that it is sprinkled with holo goodness just makes me love it 10 times more. 

China Glaze: 2NITE

Holy crap! I feel so bad about not posting. In my defense, I have totally fucked up my ankle and its all bruised and swollen. I will spare you pictures, but needless to say I have not been feeling up to my swatching self. 

But this sunday I did have a little swatching party while I was waiting for the Flyers-Islanders game to start, so I did the few polishes from the OMG collection that I have. And can I just say, that I think this was the best collection China Glaze has ever come out with! I love holo. I really can't get enough of it. In fact for christmas I've ordered myself a bunch more from OMG and from the Kaleidoscope collection. I can't wait for them to come. 

Anyway, on to 2NITE.  It is a very gorgeous light blue (actually, maybe it is more periwinkle) with tons of amazing holo glitter in it. It looks like rainbows dancing across my fingers. Of the few that I have, I think this might be the most holo-rific. On to the pictures so you can check out the gorgeousness. 

Color Club: Wild at Heart

Today I want to show you guys a fabulous purple holo from Color Club's Wild at Heart collection. I love the idea of this color, and the polish itself is fantastic. Opaque, smooth, easy application. I just think it is too red for my skintone. I love my purples more along the lines of a blurple, just because I like blues and I think cool colors are better on me. Anyway, it is still a nice color, and if you like red-leaning purples you should absolutely grab this!

The pictures I took outside don't showcase the awesome holo-ness of this polish, so I moved indoors and felt like I got much better results.
