Gosh: Mystery Night

This was another polish I got from the Magic Maid blog sale, and I love it!! It is beautiful dark and vampy color. I've been wearing it on my toes for like 2 weeks now. I love how it is clearly purple, even indoors in the shade it looks like a very dark purple. Ad I love it when polishes don't lose their color in the shade. I also LOVE the shimmer! It's great! I probably wouldn't like this so much if it were a creme. I mean, how generic - a dark purple creme. but a dark purple with reddish/pinkish subtle shimmer?? Fabulous!

Also - the formula was amazingggg. I neeeeeed more Gosh products. Stat. If only I lived in the UK. I don't even know how to get any here. Oh well, I suppose I will just have to wait for more blog sales.

Color Club: Soft as Cashmere

Here is Color Club's Soft as Cashmere. Have I mentioned how much I love Color Club products?? I wish I could work for them or something. I just think they put out a fantastic product. I love the fact that when I open a Color Club product, I know that I am the first person to do so. Just a little extra touch that I appreciate.

Soft as Cashmere is a nice grey/taupe creme. Changes depending on the light really. I don't think this meshes well with my skin when it is leaning more towards brown, but I really like how it looks when it is leaning grey.

L.A. Colors: Metallic Green

Here is the polish that horribly stained my fingers for days. Okay not days.. but at least a day. This is from the L.A. Colors set I picked up at Walgreens for like 3 dollars. It was super cheap, so I'm not that concerned about the staining. Next time I wear it, I will just be more careful.

This is actually a really nice color. I'm a sucker for shimmer metallics, and the fact that this is green just makes it even more awesome. If you see this set, you should definitely grab it. It is too cheap not to!

Icing: Ice Queen

Here is a fantastic dark grey polish I grabbed the last time I was at Claire's. Super pigmented! And I just love how dark it is. Honestly, I don't have another grey that is anywhere close to this. All of the greys I have are light grey - kind of the color of sidewalks. Or shimmery. This is a straight up dark grey creme. For some reason it reminds me of I Love Lucy. Strange, I know. On to the pictures!

OPI: Rising Star

Today I have for you OPI Rising Star from the Burlesque collection. I was planning on re-doing these swatches, but who knows when I'd get around to it. And since the collection will probably be leaving stores soon, I figured I'd just put it up even though my hands were stained green because of the last polish I had on. I really hate when that happens.

I really liked the polishes from this collection. Well, at least the polishes I have. I grabbed the mini-set that I found at a beauty supply store that I can't remember the name of, but it is pretty awesome and it's in the mall right next to my school. So that just makes it extra awesome. And also they have sales for USF students. And the sales people are super fabulous. Anyway, I saw it at Ulta as well, but for a few dollars more than what I paid, so if you can- shop around. Although 10 bucks for 4 polishes isn't bad at all. I know they are very very tiny, but really.. who uses a whole bottle of polish? Not me. So this is perfect because they take up less space, and you still get like 10 wears out of it. And if there is a color you really really love, then by all means spring for the 8 dollar bottle.

Color Club: De-luxe-cious

Here is a polish from the Color Club Untamed Luxury collection. I really love Color Club polishes! They are fabulous. Cheap. And great quality.

Great shimmer. Slightly holo glitter. Definitely a rough finish, but a few coats of Seche will take care of that.

China Glaze: Bermuda Breakaway

Here is a polish from the China Glaze Bahama Blues Collection, Bermuda Breakaway. It is a nice bright yet dark blue jelly. Great formula. This was one of the few polishes that when I had a chip on day two, I actually took it off and put the same polish back on. I never do that!!

China Glaze: Party Hearty

Here are some pics of Party Hearty. I know I've shown you this layered over other polishes, and I can't believe I forgot to upload pics of the polish on its own.

I actually prefer this polish in fewer coats. I believe this was two thin coats. I would probably stick with one for layering though.

And this was with a third coat. I really don't like how thick and cluttered this seems.

Also, I have since added some Seche Restore to this bottle, because like I said, I think it looks better in thin coats, and this polish was extremely thick when I opened it. But that is probably just personal preference. I bet loads of people love this piled up as thick as possible.

China Glaze: Emerald Sparkled

I'm pretty sure I have the crappy version. It doesn't seem to be nice and jelly-like, like some other picutres I've seen. I was expecting jelly glitter goodness, like a green version of Ruby Pumps. And since I didn't get that, I'm not a big fan. I'll try to franken what I think Emerald Sparkled should be, hopefully soon. As soon as I finally take a trip to Joann's/Michael's and grab some craft glitter. Do any of you know specifically which kind to get? I know Dr. Frankenpolish said she uses Martha Stewart's craft glitter. Does anyone know how much that will run me?

On an unrelated note, I can't freaking wait for this semester to end. I just want to be done with my thesis and done with this program and to move away and get a real job and not have to deal with interdepartmental politics and academic bull shit.

Color Club: Wild Orchid

Color Club Wild Orchid is a pleasant grey color. I had expected this polish to have more purple in it, or at least purple shimmer. But it doesn't have much noticeable shimmer at all. It is still nice if you are in need of a good grey. I feel the shimmer in this polish is maybe a little too heavy? I'm not sure why it doesn't show up much. To me, in real life, the shimmer reads more as light reflecting off of a gritty creme rather than a shimmery grey. But I still like it, because while it may not be what I was expecting, it isn't bad at all. The formula is great, as per usual with Color Club. It dried quickly, and looked pretty. Enough said.

Maybelline: Steel Wheeling

Here is a polish I got from the Magic Maid blog sale. Great sale - excellent prices and an excellent selection. My only regret is that I didn't clean her out. Anyhoo, this is Steel Wheeling by Maybelline. It is a nice taupey-grey-bronze with lots and lots of holo glitter in it. I love the polish. Love the color. Application was great. I'm not sure if I like it with my skin color, but since when has that stopped me from wearing something?

Diamond Cosmetics: Hue Are You?

Here are some pics of another fabulous Diamond Cosmetics polish, Hue Are You. It is a fantastic berry/wine colored red with a shit load of golden glitter/shimmer. Fantabulous, if you ask me.
