China Glaze: Foxy

Hey you guys! Just wanted to let you know what I wore today, after I swatched tons of polishes. Okay not tons, just 8. But 8 is a lot! Very time consuming, especially when each polish was at least 4 coats because the polishes suck. Anyhoo - I'm getting ahead of myself because I'm going to post them tomorrow after my TA sections. You know - trying to be responsible and all and put school first and frivolousness second.

So here is Foxy by China Glaze (my fav nail polish company, by the way). This polish is awesome. To be honest I had just thrown it into my cart because I really wanted Swing Baby, and I needed more polishes so  wasn't spending 7 dollars in shipping on only one bottle. So I ended up buying the majority of the Vintage Vixen collection. And boy am I glad I did. This polish is just marvelous! Shimmery! Red! Golden glitter! Definitely one of those lit from within polishes. It is just so surprisingly vibrant! I was expecting a regular old, unmemorable, dark red. Instead I get this awesomeness! Perfect for today, because in Florida we had the besttttttttttttt weather! That's the great thing about Tropical Storms and Hurricanes - we may get a little rain during, but right before and right after we have the nicest weather imaginable. It's nice and breezy (and trust me - the onlyyyyyy time there is a breeze in Florida is if theres a hurricane coming. Normally the weather outside in the summer is sickeningly, stiflingly stale and humid - no escape from the heat really. But today was awesome! Yay!). It just put me in a good mood. So.. enough rambling. More pictures.

And in the shade:

I was completely blown away by how awesome this polish is. The ultimate fall polish. October perfection.

Ulta: Scene Steel-er

Today I bring you Ulta's Scene Steel-er. This is a really cool metallic dark gray. I really like it. But I had forgotten how much I like it until I just saw these pictures.

Unfortunately - massive brushstrokeyness with this polish. Not saying it is necessarily a bad thing, but just be prepared to put a little more time into this mani.

I think this polish is so pretty in the shade!

Overall - there are better dark gray metallics out there that don't leave massive brushstrokes like this one - but this is only 2 dollars at Ulta! Two dollars!! For a pretty nice sized polish that applies pretty good. Is it the best? No. Will it suffice? Definitely. Plus - these pictures were taken without a top coat, and maybe if I added one the brushstrokes wouldn't be as noticeable? I'll have to try it.
Oh, and definitely if a holo top coat were added they wouldn't be noticeable at all. I actually realllllllly want to retry this polish with my frankened top coat. I will keep you updated.

Essie Sew Psyched Wear Test Results

Well, to be honest this polish wore pretty well. Something I frankly wasn't expecting after my last experience with Essie. This was after almost 3 days of wear. Unfortunately I just couldn't wearing the same polish any longer and had to change it up.

You can see the tip wear on my dominant hand here.

But on my non-dominant hand, there was not even the tiniest bit of wear.

Overall: awesome! I love this polish set. Go get it!

Essie: Merino Cool

Here is another polish from Essie's Fall 2010 collection, Merino Cool. This is one in a very long line of purpley taupes that have become very popular recently, but that's cool cause I really like it. Unlike Sew Psyched, in which I detected a bit of shimmer, I really think this is a pretty basic creme. The formula on these is great, again, it makes me feel foolish for discounting Essie for all those months. I think it makes my hands look dirty though, but oh well. It screams fall to me, which is awesome since we Floridians have to live vicariously through people on TV who actually experience a season between summer and winter. Anyway, onto the pics.

Yes, lovely and fabulous, I know. Enjoy!

It may sound kind of boring, but it is actually really awesome.

Essie: Sew Psyched

Heyyyy,

This is Essie Sew Psyched. I love this polish. I won't say much about it because it has been discussed ad nauseum in the nail blogosphere for the past few weeks/months. But trust me, it has not been overhyped. This polish is downright amazing.

Lovely army-green. Fantastic subtle shimmer. I just absolutely love this color.

Also - I'm watching House right now and it is really a tearjerker!!! I haven't cried while watching House in years. Until tonight.

Stash Pics

Hey, this post is especially for BD, who constantly requests pics of my stash. So here you go!

The necessary tools.

And the cute little thing I keep them in.

Miscellaneous Minis. Most Claire's and Bon Bons.

My surprisingly small number of OPI. I actually don't like OPI all that much. So I guess it's not really surprising.

Color Club. This collection needs to grow. A lot. I love Color Club.

The ever expanding Essie collection.

Sinful Colors

An absolute necessity!!!!! This savesssssssss polishes!! It is a gift from the god I don't believe in.

Hard Candy

Pure Ice

Krackenpolish. Which sounded much cooler online than it actually is.

L.A. Colors. I actually just picked these up to use the bottles to franken.. So they won't be around much longer unless they're amazing when I get a chance to try them.

Orly

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure. This will increase dramatically by the end of the week because Winn Dixie has a buy one get one free sale.

Miscellaneous Sally Hansen, but I'm missing a few HD bottles. A pink and a blue one. I have no idea where they went.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri

Assorted polishes. Nothing that special. Though if I go to Ulta tomorrow I am def picking up the new Borghese blue glittery polish.

The expensive ones.

Diamond Cosmetics

Ulta

China Glaze. I started trying to organize them by type. But then I realized I really don't give a crap. haha.

Nail Art. Most of these I got on eBay for an awesome deal. 99 cents, plus 20 bucks shipping for 48 of these suckers. That's pretty darn good. 43 cents a bottle. Heck of a lot cheaper than the 1.50 per bottle at Sally's.

The whole collection. I love my crooked diploma. Damn. I should probably fix that.

Hope you enjoyed! Because it took a lot of work, dammit.
